Popcorn
Use an air popper to pop corn with your class. Before you pop the popcorn
let your children feel the kernels and describe how they feel. Have your children
feel the popped kernels and compare them to the unpopped.
My Favorite Thanksgiving Food
Work with your class to graph favorite Thanksgiving foods. Hang the completed
graph and try to make the favorite food.
Turkey Feathers
Set out and label a variety of bird feathers in your science area. Encourage
your children to use magnifying glasses examine the different bird feathers.
Instant Pumpkin Pudding
Have each child mix mix two tablespoons pumpkin pie filling, two tablespoons
marshmallow crème, and one tablespoon whipped topping. Write out the
directions with both words and pictures and display them for your children
to follow.
Beaded Necklaces
Provide your children with a variety of beads and encourage them to sring
them onto yarn to form patterned necklaces.
Turkey Feather Counting
Cut out five turkeys from felt and write a number on each one. Cut out turkey
feathers from different colors of felt and have your children place the correct
number of feathers onto each turkey.
