Hatch a Chick

Get an incubator and a chicken egg, you can likely get one at a pet store or a chicken hatchery. Teach your children about how birds raise their young and how the incubator is keeping the egg warm like a mother hen would. Children will love to see the egg hatch and to learn about the process.
Which One Flies?

Cut out a lot of pictures of different birds. Let your students identify which one flies and which ones do not.
Make Your Own Bird Nest

Provide you students with mud, sticks, grass, leaves, twigs, pine needles, and pebbles. Let you kids create their own bird nest. Later you can talk about why birds use these things in order to keep their eggs warm.
Bird Feeder

Use Either Stale Bread or a Corn Cob as a base. Spread Peanut Butter all over the base. Then press bird seeds into the peanut butter and viola! you have a nifty bird feeder.
Match the Bow Tie

Copy five penguin designs. Make each penguin have different color shoes. Next make 5 bow ties that are the same color as the shoes. Let the kids match the bow ties with the penguin it belongs to.
Owl Bulletin Board

Get your children to bring in baby photos of them. Put these on a bulletin board along with a cutout of an Owl. Put the header Whoooo Is It?

Create a Rubber Egg

Place a egg in a container and pour vinegar over the egg until it is completely covered with liquid. Ask your children what they think will happen to the egg. In a few days your children will be delighted and surprised at what happens.
Cooking with Eggs

Dye your water table yellow. Place plastic eggs into the water table and then let your children pretend that they are cooking with eggs (the yellow water is a beaten egg)
Egg Taste Test
