Hand Elephants

What You Need:
- Fabric Scraps
- Paper
- Crayons/Markers
- Paint (and perhaps sponges
for painting)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Leaves
- Grass
What You Do:
- Have each child trace
their hand on light colored paper. Allow your childrent to use the materials
to create the markings and features of an elephant. Encourage students to create
the animals natural environment with the leaves and grass.
Idea:
When talking about elephants let your children mix their
own grey paint (mix black and white)
Paper Plate Elephants

What You Need:
- Paper Plates
- Crayons/Markers
- Paint (and perhaps sponges
for painting)
- Scissors
- Glue
What You Do:
- Give the children the
materials and let them create a lion. You can suggest that they use the yarn
for the outer edges and paint the face but don't be to specific so their creative
juices can flow.
Elephant Mask
What You Need:
- Construction paper
- Paper plate
- Stapler
What You Do:

Cut construction paper in half length wise and staple together to make
a band which will fit on kids head.

Cut paper plates in half and slit it on the top so that it can fit
on the sides of the band and staple them to the band to look like ears.

For the trunk roll a piece of construction paper up (to look like a
tube) and tape it, then staple it to the center of the band to look like
the trunk coming down.
