"The Shape of Me and Other Stuff" Shadow image

What You Need:
- Paper
- Markers/Crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
What You Do:
- Have your children draw themselves or another image on a piece of white paper. Then have them put a piece of black paper behind it and cut out their drawing. Then have them paste the white piece on a separate piece of paper and dray a sun. Finally, they can use the black piece to make a shadow on the paper. These are really cute art projects and teach your children about the shape of them
Dr. Seuss Hat

- Various other art supplies
What You Do:
- Make a hat out of newspaper (make these for your class, or walk them through how to make them) and then let your children paint the hat like a Dr. Seuss Hat. Once they dry your children will love to wear their new Seuss Hat.

Bag Dr. Seuss Hat

- Use a paper bag for a hat. Roll it up to fit your child's head. Next let them paint the hat just like a Dr. Seuss Hat.
"Gertrude McFuzz" Bird

- After reading the book "Gertrude McFuzz" Have your children create a bird on a piece of paper. Then ask them how many feathers their bird should have and let them glue those on.

- Give each of your children a cat cutout. Have them cut out a unique hat and decorate it anyway that they want. Have them attach this to their cat to make a cute cat in a hat.

- Give your children a dress tie cutout design (or have them make their own) then have them paint their favorite Dr. Seuss characters or scenes on the tie.
"The Shape of Me" Collage

What You Do:
- Trace and cut out your children from the paper. Let them go through magazines and cut out things that they like. They can then paste them on the cut out and you have a collage of the child

Use old shoes to make shoe prints

- Create a silhouette of your children by turning out the lights and having each child sit in front of a projector. Trace their face on a piece of white paper. Then have your children use magazines to find items that match their personalities. Have them cut these out and paste these on their paper and create a shape of them collage.

"My Book About Me, By Me Myself " The Me Puppet

- Yarn
What You Do:
- Let your children make a puppet of themselves. They can create the facial features on the bag and yarn for hair. Additionally they can use your fabrics to make clothes for their puppet. Note this also works with "Shape of Me and Other Stuff "
