Effie is an ant just like everyone else, except she has a voice
like thunder. Every time Effie talks to another ant or insect
they squirm, fly, scurry, or parachute away. Effie eventually
is able to use her voice to save her anthill from being stepped
on by a heavy elephant's foot. She does this by calling out for
the elephant to stop. After Effie saves the hill the ants treat
her better, and she becomes friends with all of the elephants
that love to hear her voice.
